The Importance of Shoes (or, that time I spent way too long talking about footwear)

I have a newfound appreciation for shoes. I love how the right pair can complete an outfit; in this case, my sparkly Miu Miu's (a Christmas present) transformed what was a classic but very basic outfit into a fun, 'done' look.

I worked at a footwear brand for a few years and since then I've noticed that I always look at other people's footwear choices. It's important to note that the 'right' shoe does not necessarily mean an expensive shoe at all (I'm actually currently obsessed with this $39 pair from the Target & Prabal Gurung collection, and this $79 shoe is a perfect nude patent pump) but just that it can show whether a person takes pride in their appearance and portrays confidence. While your choice of footwear isn't exactly going to save the world (though Tom's might disagree!) I think it's definitely worth putting in the extra effort. Plus, Carrie Bradshaw's thoughts on the importance of footwear couldn't have been all wrong right?

Do you think the right shoe is as integral to an outfit as I do? Or do you not really care and think I've just been blabbering about shoes for too long now?

I'm wearing this Timex watch from Piperlime, this trench coat from Gap and this silky top from J Crew. My shoes are by Miu Miu, pants by Citizens of Humanity, clutch is old from h&m and ring is c/o Stella and Bow. My lipstick is this Bobbi Brown color in 'Pink' which I absolutely love.
