We took an impromptu trip to Palm Springs over the weekend - we realized last minute that Monday was a holiday and hadn't been to the desert in nearly a year, so off we went!
The weather hovered around 80 degrees during the day so we spent most of our time by the pool (we stayed at the Ace hotel), but ventured to downtown Palm Springs to do a little shopping/looking at the plethora of cool vintage design shops and the art fair that was going on. We also ate at some amazing restaurants; we had insanely good pizza at a restaurant called Birba, dined by the gorgeous pool at The Purple Palm, and had the best tortilla soup in the world at the Tommy Bahama restaurant (I've been obsessing over the soup since a visit to Palm Springs when I was probably 16).
It was a perfect trip and reminded me how much I love Palm Springs - in recent years I've only been out the desert to go to Coachella, which is really fun but not exactly a relaxing and leisurely time. We're not going to go to Coachella this year (I kind of feel like I am getting too old/not cool enough for it) but I can't wait to go back to eat and shop and relax again, hopefully sooner rather than later!
