In the trenches...

Good morning! I woke up to a dreary, rainy day which kind of sucks, but also doesn't happen all that often in LA, so I suppose I can't complain. What I can complain about (mostly to myself) is my serious lack of rain appropriate outerwear. I think in my head I am still saving up for a Burberry trench, but that seems to have stopped me from ever buying anything practical until I have an extra $1,300 lying around for a new coat...

For now though, check out some beautiful (albeit possibly not exactly weather proof) trench coats:

Burberry

Oscar de la Renta

Yves Saint Laurent

Burberry London (my dream coat!)

Burberry London

Missoni

Bottega Veneta

Erdem

Michael Kors
Which one is your favorite? Would you ever buy a printed trench or would you stick with the classic khaki or black?

Scenes from Coachella

Good morning! I am back home from Coachella! We got back super late (or early? It was 3 am on Sunday night/Monday morning) and I was too tired to post pictures yesterday, so here are a few of my favorites now:

Did any of you go? If so, what were your highlights? I loved hearing Gotye live, Florence and the Machine were absolutely amazing, and the Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre set was really really fun.

I had such a great time, but I am happy to be home - I can only take so long of late nights and loud music, I am getting old!

Coachella!

Good morning! I'm getting so excited, I have to start packing soon as we are leaving for Coachella bright and early tomorrow morning! Are any of you guys going? If you see me please say hi!

I can't wait to watch some great live music, see friends, sit by a pool with a drink (or three) and check out the great festival fashion. For whatever reason, music festivals inspire amazing outfits and it's always fun to see what people put together. I put together three (dream) Coachella outfits from Net a Porter - check them out below!

Perfect for a pool party!

What do you think? Are you guys as obsessed with Mara Hoffman bikinis as I am?

Also, check out my Palm Springs guide. It's from last year, but a lot of things are still the same!

Scenes from Easter Sunday

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! I had such a nice time, we went to church and for brunch with my sister's family.

My baby niece wore a cute little Easter dress and matching bow in her hair, and my two year old nephew was beyond excited (and a little confused) by the Easter bunny and the Easter egg hunt. It only could have been made more perfect if my parents could have been here, but they are up in Canada. (Hi mom and dad!)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day:

My sister and I, with Easter appropriate bunny ears, of course. She's wearing Tory Burch heels and I'm not sure who her dress is by but this Milly one is really pretty and looks similar,  and I have on  this DVF dress, Tory Burch wedges &  Bauble Bar earrings.

My sis & me with the cute babies

me and my nephew. how cute is his tiny blazer?

My sister and her cute family

me and my bf - now you know who I am talking about when I mention him - he doesn't like pictures so probably won't like this, but oh well ; )

What did you guys do, if anything? Do you have any interesting Easter traditions? I basically just like to eat a lot of chocolate, which isn't all that different from any other day.

Jill from les remaquables

Happy Monday! Today we have a post from my friend and fellow blogger, Jill! I know you guys will love her & her blog as much as I do:

hey all!

my name is jill and i am a stylist/blogger from the blog "les remarquables"! whit and i have been planning to do a guest post together for a while now, but it wasn't until she booked her trip to vancouver (happy birthday whit!) that it all came together.

here in dreary vancouver (it was actually snowing a couple weeks ago IN MARCH... so thank your gods LA readers.. cuz i'm jealous of ya) it's important for me to stay cheery.

what better way to do that than with color? call me crazy, but putting on my fav red lipstick (MAC ruby woo) or some colored jeans definitely adds a little pep to my step when i need it most. so when i found this zara coat, i went a little nuts. it's super soft and i'm kind of in love with the 60's shape of it. i wanted to keep the look modern and effortlessly chic, so i added some worn in jeans, a simple grey tee (i love me a grey tee, it is my staple) and a pair of pumps.

so, readers, thanks for having me, and answer me this: what do you wear to keep a little pep in your step on those days when you need it most?

ps keep your eye out for more posts on how to wear this divine yellow coat!

acoat: Zara (similar here, here, and here)
jeans: Zara (similar here, and here)
