flower market

The other day my sister and I went down to the LA Flower Market, which is basically a huge warehouse/factory downtown just filled to the brim with fresh, gorgeous, extremely well priced (i.e. not marked up 150% at Whole Foods) flowers.

My sister needed flowers for an event, and I tagged along just for fun (and a huge bouquet of hydrangeas for $5). If you are ever in need of flowers or craft/party stuff, definitely come down here. I got three gorgeous apothecary jars for a much better deal than the ones I'd been eyeing at Pottery Barn!

I'm wearing my navy J Crew shorts, a Dolce and Gabanna button up that I scored at a vintage store in New York, these super comfy ballet flats from J Crew, and a studded bracelet that I got a few years ago at Forever 21 (but this one that they currently have is pretty much identical).

My sister is wearing J Brand jeans (these by Paige are really similar and very cute), these Tory Burch flats and a top from Old Navy.

  1. J Crew flats are so comfy.

Those flowers look so beautiful. I wish there was a place like this near where I live. If there was I would always have fresh flowers.

  8. Your outfit is adorable! I love the J. Crew flats. I've been wanting a pair for a while but will probably wait until there's a great discount!

And the flower market looks AMAZING! I know some people think flowers are completely frivelous but I am not one of them. I love having them around the apartment!

  19. The flower market in NYC is on my to-do list this weekend! They sometimes get sticky about selling to "commoners" aka not wholesale flower shops, but I'm hoping for the best. You got some gorgeous blooms!

  20. You guys look like you scored! I'm down by the flower market all the time for work but with the heat, can't bring flowers on the 1-2 hr ride home, although now that it's finally cooling off you're inspiring me to try! Hope you have a great weekend Whitney!

  31. You've found heaven! At least that's what it looks like. :) Reading your blog makes me do constant forehead palms for the time that I lived in LA for college but didn't do all this fun stuff.
