entrenched

I've been searching for the perfect trench for quite some time and finally found this one from the Gap which is exactly what I need...as much as a person can really 'need' an item of clothing, anyway.

It's soft, classic looking, the perfect length, and a really great price (unlike the Burberry that I am dreaming of but isn't exactly in my budget since it costs as much as a month's rent). I tried on quite a few trenches before finding this one, with a Banana Republic coat being particularly horrible - I looked like a crazy homeless person or the killer from a bad 80's movie.

Do you have a trench coat? Do you love or hate them? I'm a little too excited about mine I think...

skirt is old from h&m (this Splendid one is similar and on sale for $38), top is old from Zara, jewelry is vintage, shoes Christian Louboutin (but these are really cute and much cheaper!)

  1. Holly Molly Whitney, you are such a bombshell in those pictures. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this trench coat, so sophisticated. Glad you don't look like a homeless person or a killer, totally cracked me up, but I know what you mean. It's so hard to find the right trench coat what the cut, shape and lenght is considered. Great combo with the red pencil skirt and yellow striped shirt. EFFORTLESSLY beautiful. To your question: I have a gastritis probably from too much stress at work. Thank you for your well wishes :-)

  4. This one is great! I actually have cycled through a few trenches throughout the year, and finally landed on a Banana Republic one (ha!) that fit like a glove. I think the trick is tailoring. I've learned, it changes everything!

  17. I do! I haven't worn it as much since I've stopped being full-time active in a church, but I still love it as much as you love yours! Back in NJ, where I'm from, there is a Jewish temple that has a yearly consignment sale of quality clothing - from the women on the north side of town, dahling - and that's where I scored mine :)

  19. I saw this trench at Gap the other day and I just love it. It's such a classic style and is great quality for the price! I love your red & yellow outfit, too. I am of the opinion that a girl can never EVER have enough striped tops. They're my favorite!

  25. i just got a trench from brooks brothers a couple months ago. it was a spring-weight trench on super sale as they were clearing out for fall, but i can wear it year round here on the island. i'll admit to being like you, way too excited about a jacket. but i just love it.
