The other night we went down to Palisades Park, a walking/running path in Santa Monica with gorgeous views of the ocean and the pier to watch the sunset and take a little walk...and then we saw across the street that Blue Plate Taco was finally open, so we took a few blog pictures and then
I'm wearing these Paige jeans, Tory Burch wedges (sold out but these are really cute and on sale!), a silky Banana Republic tank (this one is very similar) and an old Zara blazer that I got in Paris probably 6 years ago. My clutch is an old Winners find (Canada's version of TJ Maxx), my bracelets are the little ones I got in Chinatown that I keep talking about, and my belt is 'borrowed' from my boyfriend (again).
Now onto the good stuff. Blue Plate Taco is an offshoot of the equally amazing Blue Plate Oysterette and Blue Plate restaurant (both also in Santa Monica - they're taking over!) and is located in the newly built and ultra sleek Shore Hotel.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a rustic yet glamorous way (tiled floors, polished wood, lots of shiny silver) and serves inventive, farm fresh Mexican food and drinks. I loved the tortilla soup (and I'm a major tortilla soup snob) and the blended margarita, and my boyfriend really enjoyed the truffled lobster taco. Although not exactly a traditional Mexican dish, their garlicy Caesar salad with cotija cheese is amazing and I highly suggest you try it!
Next time you are in Santa Monica, you should try out Blue Plate Taco - though be prepared to wait in line. I have a feeling this restaurant is going to be the next big thing!

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question; YES you can 100% drink champagne under the Eiffel Tower and it's magical. Drinking in public is legal in most parts of Europe excluding The UK. Enjoy your time over there! xx
