A few weekends ago I went to Strand House, a recently opened and very pretty restaurant/lounge overlooking the ocean in Manhattan Beach. This space used to house a sort of...not so nice restaurant/lounge called Beaches, and I'm so glad that it has been re-vamped and turned into this great new spot.
We were only there for drinks and snacks, but everything that I tried was very good - I would describe the menu as gourmet American food with an emphasis on seafood.
I have a lot of items on my 'must try next time' list including their Forest Mushroom Pizza with melted leeks, garlic, Fontina cheese and chervi and their Seared Ahi Tuna with smokey apple purée and green bean succotash. How good do those sound?

this looks like such a fun place to spend a night out. the lighting is SO cool, and that view is so beautiful. the tall palm trees are gorgeous!!
